Football Season!

I LOVE Football season.  I have been looking forward to it for awhile now.  I created a page to start collecting things that get me excited about BYU football.  Check it out here:  http://www.brettpeterson.us/cougars/collection.php

Theres a lot of hype around BYU this year and everyone is making predictions about BCS, or failing, or whatever.  Coach Mendenhall says, "Its a perfect storm... for a letdown."  I have to agree, but there is no denying the excitement in the air!

Even little Olivia walks around and says "Cougars!" as she pumps her fists.  Its going to be a fun year!

Finally

Finally an end to the NBA-thesbian club.  (Hopefully.)   The league announced today that starting next season there will be fines and possible suspensions for flopping or over-reacting.  The NBA has had a problem for several years now where players try to sell the foul by jumping, falling, screaming, etc and it is really lame.

During the Spurs and Lakers game the other night, Brent Barry was obviously fouled by Derrick Fisher, and no foul was called.  Announcers and so-called-experts said he needed to sell the foul better.  That is ridiculous!  If its a foul, its a foul- and trying to sell a foul ruins the game.

I think this is good for the league, and can't wait to see who gets fined the most for flops!

Starting to adjust

Well, Olivia is 3 weeks old now, and we are finally getting adjusted. While Sarahs family was around, we were able to finish a room in our basement for Emily, who will be staying with us for BYU school year. Things are going well at work, my baby is beautiful, and I couldnt ask for more! (except to have a good BYU football team ;)

Cockiness vs. Humility (at least more humility)

Nothing makes me feel better than when cocky individuals get humbled. Thats the case with the Dallas Mavericks, who had quotes in Dallas papers ranging from "They arent really a worthy opponent, Detroit would have been more a challenge" and "Wade isnt that good of a shooter" and had the Victory parade all planned and scheduled after game 2! Oh how sweet is was to see the Heat win 4 straight, with Wade averaging about 35 points. I wonder what they are saying now? Probably blaming it on the referrees rather than admitting Wade and Shaq are just better than them! Anyways, I thought this was interesting... I read an article on Dwyane Wade and how he has always beleived in tithing 10%, and how it is the key to humility in his life. When he got drafted by the Heat, he spent several months searching for a church that believed in 10% tithing. Too bad he didnt meet the missionaries!

Go Heat!

Nothing against Texas, but I really hope Miami beats Dallas in the NBA finals! I really enjoy watching Dwayne Wade, and dont care much for Dallas owner Mark Cuban. I know Dallas is the better team, but I hope Wade gets super-human and can pull it out for Miami. By the way, do you guys know you can scroll over the images to see them full size and my other blogs are accessible with the link on the left hand side? Just wondering..... I know some people dont think the way I do, and what is obvious to me isnt so obvious after all!
